The DIGI-EQUAL Project

Objectives

The project aims to promote equal access to digital employment for women by actively challenging gender stereotypes and societal barriers. It focuses on strengthening women's digital skills through innovative training and resources, supporting their seamless integration into the digital workforce, and raising awareness about diverse career opportunities within the sector. Additionally, it strives to foster greater diversity and inclusion, contribute to reducing gender inequalities, and create sustainable change by developing practical tools and strategies for both learners and employers across Europe.

  • 1.     Promote equal access to training & careers for women in the digital field

    2.     Raise awareness among female adult learners about the exciting career possibilities within the digital field

    3.     Inspire attitude changes by empowering individuals to challenge stereotypes related to training & careers

    4.     Explore connections between equal access to the employment opportunities in the digital field, sustainability & the added value of the EU

    5.     Identify & foster the development of key digital competences needed for careers in the digital sector & increasing awareness among adult learners

    6.     Promote the project results, the added-value of the EU through digital practices for eco-friendly communication

  • 1.     Envision solutions to the perceived barriers to equal access in the digital field through collaboration across 4 EU countries, with a particular focus on women who are undertaking or have completed a training course (R1)

    2.     Explore alternative employment & career opportunities for adult learners in the digital field (R1)

    3.     Determine the essential key competences needed to consider a career in the digital field (R1 & R2)

    4.     Develop innovative, multi-access resources for adult learners & educators to assist in preparing focused job applications & making a positive first impression in a new role within the digital field (R2)

    5.     Deliver an eco-aware digital dissemination & promotion platform & strategy tailored to the current context, showcasing the added value of the project outcomes & the Erasmus+ programme (R3)

Implementation

The initiative will encompass a range of activities including the organisation of focus groups and training workshops in partner countries, the development of accessible multimedia educational resources, and the creation of an innovative online platform for resource sharing. The project will conduct impact assessments and hold final conferences to promote its results. It will also pilot new pedagogical modules, implement awareness campaigns targeting underrepresented groups, and promote eco-friendly dissemination activities. Throughout its duration, the project will facilitate pilot testing, stakeholder engagement, stakeholder training, and continuous evaluation to ensure all results are effectively tailored to meet the needs of women in the digital sector.

Results

The project will generate comprehensive solutions to remove barriers faced by women seeking employment in digital fields, including the development of tailored pedagogical tools and support strategies. It will establish an accessible online platform hosting inclusive resources, detailed impact reports, and legislation recommendations. The initiative aims to increase women’s participation in digital careers, enhance their confidence and employability, and improve employers' understanding of gender equality. The dissemination efforts will ensure that the project’s outcomes have a broad European impact, leaving a sustainable legacy that advances gender equality and digital inclusion for years to come.

  • ●      R1.1:  Identification & exchange of current best practice from the 4 partner countries to be presented in a comparative analysis report (IOVA)

    ●      R1.2: Design & develop an action plan with strategic proposals to promote the equal access in the digital sector for women & help combat gender-related stereotypes including pedagogical guidelines for supporting women in finding a new job in the digital field (WIDE)

    ●      R1.3: Tips to maximise the potential added-value of Work Based Learning (WBL) (DIGITALSET)

    ●      Tips to apply for a work-based learning experience

    ●      Tips on how to succeed in a period if work-based learning WBL experience

    ●      Tips on how to valorise the learning during & after a work-based learning experience

    ●      R1.4: Design & Develop Skills Incubators as an alternative to Work Based Learning (WBL)

    ●      For those who are not eligible to it (those who are looking for a re-conversion) OR for those who are eligible & signed up in Adult Education Centre) including guidelines to implement a skills incubator for women retraining in IT in an organisation or business (DLI)
